Auto repair for San Francisco drivers
More of our reviewers come from San Francisco than anywhere else, and they drive about 20 miles down US-101 to our shop at 124 S Amphlett Blvd in San Mateo. They come for honest diagnosis, photos by text, suspension and performance installs, smog repairs and maintenance. Many drop the car off and use Caltrain from downtown San Mateo, a short walk from the shop.
Getting here from San Francisco
Take US-101 south, about 20 miles, to San Mateo and head to 124 S Amphlett Blvd, on the frontage road alongside the freeway. Open Monday to Friday 8:30 to 6 and Saturday 10 to 5. If you'd rather not wait, drop off the car and take Caltrain from downtown San Mateo.
What San Francisco driving does to a car
- Steep hills are hard on brakes, clutches, engine mounts and transmissions.
- Street parking means curb strikes, which knock alignment out and damage tires and wheels.
- Potholes wear suspension parts and bend wheels.
- Short trips and long periods parked are hard on batteries.
- Catalytic converter theft is a real risk for some models; a shield helps.
What San Francisco customers bring us
Coilovers to soften a Tesla Model Y, BRZ camber arms, Civic headlights, an air suspension fix on a Lexus GX 470, smog failures solved the same day, brakes, maintenance and much more.

They do what they say and say what they do… They are able to speak layman's terms when it comes to describing what my cars need.
I brought my Tesla Model Y in to install coilovers to soften the stiff suspension. They were responsive… did the work on time, and the ride is oh so plush.
I called early morning to see if they could fit me into their schedule to fix something to pass smog. Pulled up later that day and got me out of there within a half hour.
They fixed my failing air suspension (Lexus GX470) with an alternative solution… These guys got it all done in a day… No problems since!
