What we work on

  • Oil leaks: valve cover gaskets, oil pan gaskets, front and rear main seals, cam and crank seals
  • Timing belts and chains, water pumps and tensioners
  • Cooling systems: radiators, water pumps, hoses, thermostats
  • Engine performance: misfires, VTC and variable valve timing faults, ignition and fuel
  • Transmission service and fluid exchanges
  • Differential and transfer case fluid
  • CV axles and driveshafts
  • Engine and transmission replacement and swaps
  • Exhaust and catalytic converters, including repair after theft

Leaks: fix it, or watch it?

Not every leak is an emergency. We find exactly where it's coming from, which is not always where the drip lands, and look at what it's dripping onto. Oil seeping slowly from an old gasket on a high-mileage car can often be photographed and watched at each oil change. Oil dripping onto a hot exhaust, an alternator or a rubber belt is a different story, because it can damage other parts or cause a burning smell.

We'll show you photos and tell you which category yours is in.

The big jobs

When a repair is large, like a head gasket or an engine replacement, you'll know exactly what's involved before we start: what we're replacing, what we found along the way, and what else is worth doing while it's apart, so the car doesn't have to come back apart for it later.

2008 GMC Yukon XL
The Gosch Bros have helped me out with every car I own from basic maintenance to an engine swap on my 2008 Yukon XL.

1995 Corvette
Had the Gosch Bros swap my transmission on my 95 corvette and I was very satisfied with the time and quality of work they did.

Hyundai Santa Fe
Upon inspection of my car they told me they disagreed with Hyundai and I didn't need all of the extra work done that Hyundai proposed. They changed only the necessary parts (valve cover gasket and alternator and cleaned up the oil spray mess).

More questions

Do you do engine and transmission swaps?

Yes. We've swapped engines and transmissions in trucks, daily drivers and enthusiast cars, from a 2008 Yukon XL engine to a '95 Corvette transmission.

My car is leaking oil. Does it need fixing right away?

It depends on where it's coming from and how fast. A slow seep can often be watched; a leak dripping onto the exhaust or a belt should be fixed soon. How to tell.

When does my timing belt need replacing?

It depends on the engine; many call for it between 60,000 and 105,000 miles or at a set age. Some engines use a chain instead. Timing belt guide.

Do you do transmission fluid service?

Yes, with the fluid your transmission specifies. We'll also tell you if the fluid still looks good and doesn't need changing yet.
